Questions and Answers
Can I get a tax deduction for buying gifts for customers at Christmas?
I run a small business and I wanted to give some gifts to my loyal customers and suppliers this Christmas. Are these gifts tax deductible?
A lot of businesses like to give gifts at Christmas to their customers or suppliers. In order for tax relief to be claimed on these gifts they need to be of a promotional nature. For example, things like branded diaries, calendars, pens, mugs, umbrellas etc.
Unfortunately, if you simply send drinks, sweets, boxes of biscuits etc. these are not a tax-deductible expense.
