Tax Review Thursday raises €10,000 to Support Make-A-Wish

TaxAssist Accountants were delighted to hand over a €10,000 cheque to Make-A-Wish Ireland to help them grant wishes to critically ill children. The money was raised and as part of a new initiative Tax Review Thursday which ran on 18th May 2023.

Tax Review Thursday offered anyone who files their own tax return a free tax review by qualified accountants in exchange for a €95 donation to Make-A-Wish.

The campaign highlighted some of the top mistakes people make on their tax returns every year. For instance, forgetting to claim certain tax credits, failing to maximize pension tax relief, neglecting to claim for working from home during Covid, or omitting certain health expenses.

Commenting on this initiative, Managing Director, TaxAssist Accountants, Alison McGinley says,

“We're proud to support the Make-A-Wish charity and help self-employed individuals maximise their tax reliefs and credits. With the housing crisis and cost of living crisis affecting so many, we want to help people keep more of their hard-earned money while also giving back to the communities we serve.”

David Burns, Make-A-Wish Ireland Head of Fundraising, (pictured above) added,

"We're very grateful for TaxAssist Accountants and we think this is a great idea and wonderful to see companies, through their work, supporting our efforts and making a difference in the lives of critically ill children and their families."
