3 ways to get receipts into your accountant during COVID-19

As many businesses are now beginning the task of preparing their 2019 tax return many of them want to avoid having to physically bring in records to their accountant during the current crisis.

Here are 3 other ways you could get share your documents with your accountant:

1. Receipt Bank

At TaxAssist Accountants our clients can use a document scanning facility called Dext to capture the required documents needed to complete your tax return.

All you need to do is take pictures of your receipts with your smartphone using the Receipt Bank mobile app. Your accountant can then log in to the account, view your receipts and use them to prepare your accounts and tax.

2. Secure Portal

You could also use a secure online portal like Dropbox.

An online portal allows you to upload files and pictures/scanned copies of your receipts into a secure online folder. You can then give your accountant access to this folder to view and download the documents or simply transfer the documents to your accountant.

3. Post

An Post have still been working hard during the pandemic so there is nothing stopping you packing your receipts up and posting them to your accountant. While TaxAssist Accountants offices are closed to the public, at the moment, they can still receive post.
