Questions and Answers
Has the CRO filing date for annual returns been extended?
I run a small company and my accounts are due to the CRO on 15 July. Given the current pandemic is there any leeway on this deadline?
The CRO announced at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic that any company due to file their annual accounts and return in the period up to 30 June 2020 would be deemed to have filed their accounts on time as long as the submission was received on or before 30th June.
The CRO have announced that this deadline has now been extended until the 31 October 2020.
This means that if your annual return is due anytime between now and the 31 October, you have until the 31 October to file the return and financial statements.
For the Register of Friendly Societies the extension is until 31 December 2020.
However, companies are advised to continue to file their annual return on time where they are in a position to do so.
