Has the Pandemic Unemployment Payment been extended?

I was self-employed before the COVID-19 crisis but currently claiming PUP. My business won’t open again until later in the summer. Will I continue to receive this payment? Are there any changes?

The good news is that the Pandemic Unemployment Payment has been extended until 10 August 2020.

Those who were earning €200 a week or more from employment before the shutdown will see no change in the amount they receive and will continue to get €350 per week.

However, from 29 June there will be a change for those who were earning €199.99 or less per week.

For these workers, the payment will be cut to the standard Jobseekers rate of €203 per week.

This change will affect approximately a quarter of recipients currently on the scheme.
